Alpha Omega Playback Theatre Company is one of the most unique and special playback theatre companies on the planet.
They all perform using their own experiences and observations to create response and give back to the work.
Our performers come from agencies across the Wellington Region, they have both intellectual and physical disabilities that don't hold them back from utilizing their creative voice and igniting creativity in others.
We invite you into our open session to get a taste of our company life.
If you are interested in doing theatre/music for yourself or know of someone that would love to give this a go we invite you along to our event.
This session will be guided by Claire Hewitt and Darrell Haddon.
Claire has been performing, leading and sharing playback for the last 15 years. She is artistic director of Wellington Playback Theatre Company and Alpha Omega Playback Theatre Company. She recently created a new playback project in Porirua called Tuku Iho. This means the gifts that have been handed down. This is so true of the work as each individual develops their own voice and unique style.
Darrell is our master of movement. He has been working with us over the last year and the team has been beyond thrilled to be learning about all the extra ways to move their bodies and create deeper expression in their movement. Darrell recently ran a movement workshop as part of the Spring Uprising. He is training to be an educator of dance building connection to body and soul through movement.
