I was saying to my fellow participants at Song Leaders this weekend that we must look for the magic moments. And there has been a multitude this weekend, but nothing makes you more proud then being in your truth and being purposeful and providing darn good entertainment.
This is how it started for our pop up playback, a conversation about what I do and what resonates for me as an artist, I cast a small thought into the world, "How great would it be to do playback at Song Leaders sometime".
The next thing I know our conversation has evolved and a group of song leaders from all over NZ willing to give it a go and to tell their stories.
Just because I am fancy pants I have to let you know that they did "Fluid Sculptures" by far the hardest form of the playback structures and excerpt of a story. There are unbelievably talented people in NZ. Together we explored the highlights of "Song Leaders" weekend so far.
I am so touched by the generosity and creativity that it is definitely going to stay with me as a highlight from the weekend. Spontaneous magic. It was lovely to hear the different moments from the leaders personal experiences and for them to play and be involved in some pop up playback.
